Questions
Do I need experience or strength to start aerial silks?
No. You build the strength by doing it. Most beginners are surprised by how quickly their body adapts — grip, core, and upper body all develop fast when you're training something you actually enjoy. You don't need a gym background or any prior fitness level. You just need to show up!
I've never done aerials silks or anything like it before. Can I try?
That's exactly who the Absolute Beginners class is for. Ours course start from zero — no gymnastics background, no dance experience, or prior aerial training. The first session covers the basics: how to hold the silks, how to use your feet, and your first climb. Step by step, our teachers are experienced in showing you the ropes (or in this case, silks!).
Is aerial hoop good for building strength?
Yes — it's one of the most effective ways to build upper body and core strength while actually enjoying the process. You'll notice progress in grip strength, shoulder stability, and core control within a few weeks of regular training.
Is it safe? How high off the ground do you actually go?
In beginners classes you work low — rarely more than a metre or two off the ground. Crash mats are always down. You don't go higher than you're ready for, and your instructor controls the progression. We don't rush anyone up.
Do I have to commit to a full course, or can I try a single class first?
We recommend starting with our beginners trial class — it's structured so that you can try both silks and hoop. That said, if you want to try a single taster session first, that's also an option. Check the schedule for what's currently available.
