She came, she taught, you loved it. Irina Sokolik is returning to Studio Sloterdijk this August for another two-day workshop — and this time, she's bringing both apparatus.
Rope and straps, used interchangeably across both sessions. The focus is spinning, swinging, and rolling — working the same techniques on both apparatus to understand what each one actually teaches you.
Rope provides vertical support while the tail guides the pathway. Straps ask for more drive while removing the grip factor entirely. Training both side by side makes the technique click in a way that working one alone doesn't.
Skills covered include beats progression from basic beats through to planche and meathook and their dynamic combinations; spinning sequences progressing into ascending work with multiple flares; Amazon on rope versus Supporting on straps; rolling from these positions; and more — with progressions available for the more advanced among you.
Two sessions, two hours each. One weekend.
Who it's for: Intermediate aerialists who can comfortably straddle. Meathook experience is a plus, but not required.
Schedule: Sat 8 August, 17:00–19:00 Sun 9 August, 17:00–19:00
Location: Studio Sloterdijk — Kabelweg 22, 1014 BB Amsterdam
Price:
€90 early bird (full weekend)
€100 full price (full weekend)

About Irina
Irina started on aerial silks and found her way to rope — where she's stayed. She specialises in dynamic movement and rolling technique, with over four years of teaching experience, two of which focused specifically on rope.
Her approach is precise and progressive: she breaks down complex movements into achievable steps, so you're always working at the right edge of your ability. If you were in the room last time, you already know what to expect. If you weren't — this is your chance.
